ROTAB Publish What You Pay has set the following goals:
- To promote transparency throughout the entirety of extractive industry processes;
- To stimulate and participate in the public debate and in communications linking the government, the private sector and civil society on the issue of Niger’s extractive industries in order to promote good governance;
- To lobby political officials and influence the national laws passed and implemented by the government of Niger as related to extractive industries, as well as exploration, exploitation and marketing agreements signed with any company involved, in order to ensure durable human development;
- To promote and defend the rights of populations and workers in the country’s mining areas as well as in Niger as a whole;
- To strengthen the capacities of national organizations working to promote citizen ownership ;
- To develop synergy and cooperation between NGOs and Associations that are part of the network;
- To draw lessons from and share experiences;
- To work toward member organization involvement in defining national development policies and programs;
- To work toward involving civil society organizations in the implementation of national development policies and programs;
- To reinforce, facilitate and develop relationships with networks working abroad;
- To help promote a more equitable division of roles and responsibilities amongst partners working for transparency and Governance.
